TIFF 2017 – Festival Street: Food Trucks, Extended Patios & More

This year’s Toronto International Film Festival is almost here, and the city is already abuzz.

From September 7 to 17, Toronto will host 339 feature films (238 premiering in our fair city), and will be home to some of the world’s biggest movie stars and directors, including George Clooney, Angelina Jolie and Idris Elba.

Returning for a fourth year, King West between Peter Street and University Avenue will turn in a free, pedestrian-only street festival  for TIFF’s opening weekend (September 7 to 10).

In addition to many films, art installations and musical performances, Festival Street, which attracted 120,000 visitors last year, offers a ton of enticing food options. Take a look:

Food Trucks & More

Grab a bite at local the following food trucks on site:

  • The Arepa Republic – arepas, a Venezuelan flatbread with various fillings
  • feasTO – dumplings
  • Heirloom – local and sustainable fare
  • Koi Gourmet – Asian dishes
  • SUSHITTO On the Road – sushi burritos
  • Tdots Naansense – Indian cuisine
  • Urban Smoke – BBQ
  • Chocolate lovers take note: Head to the Lindor Chocolate Mobile to sample the new Lindor Fudge Swirl truffle.
  • Visit Lorissa’s Kitchen for responsibly raised meat snacks.
