OPENINGS

From the same folks that brought us Belfast Love, the Donnelly Group is back – this time, West Queen West with Death & Taxes Free House (1154 Queen St. W.). On the micro menu? Avocado Toast ($9), a variety of pizzas on sesame seed crust ($11 ea.) and Kale Caesar ($8). Weekends and holidays, tuck into the AYCE brunch buffet ($16).

Keep the CNE feels going with Saturday’s grand opening of Funnel Cake Express (8 Wellesley St. E.). This month’s feature flavours include: Oreo, Hershey’s S’Mores, Maple Bacon, and Jack’s Hot with Monterey Jack and Sriracha ($13 ea.).

Katsuya’s (66 Gerrard St. E.) second location brings their popular Japanese fusion tonkatsu downtown.

ND Sushi & Grill (370 College St.) is back, opening today at noon. Note: there’s no booze until their liquor license comes through – expected to arrive in November.

Philthy Philly’s Cheesesteak (372 Yonge St.) has arrived at Yonge and Gerrard. Just in time for back-to-school.

All matcha, all the time, café/bakery Tsujiri (4909 Yonge St.) has landed a second outpost in North York.

Untold’s (1581 Bayview Ave.) salad bar, soup and chimney-style ice cream cone eatery has already drawn the Leaside crowd.

Just down the block from Untold is popular new eatery 2 BROS Cuisine’s second location (1549 Bayview Ave.). Local folks are giving their shawarma, poutine and other fare rave reviews.
