A whack of new restos and events will help get you through this last bit o’ winter.

OPEN

Chef Alex Molitz is forecasting tomorrow evening for the soft launch of City Betty (1352 Danforth Ave.), with “American bicoastal influences from California and New York using Ontario Farm-to-Table principles.” Fingers/forks crossed.

EAT BKK Thai Kitchen & Bar expands with a second location in North York (6307 Yonge St.).

Italian resto Giulietta (972 College St.) by David Minicucci (L'Unità) and Chef Rob Rossi (Bestellen) is now open. Stay tuned.

Mississauga’s The Kolkata Club Indian Kitchen & Bar (488 Eglinton Ave. W., Unit 2) is a “culinary tribute to the elegant club culture of India,” by none other than Hemant Bhagwani of Amaya Restaurants.

Stick around the Mississauga area for shawarmas, crepes, curries, and burgers – the specialties on offer at Naan Bros (2275 Britannia Rd. W., Unit 12)

The second floor of Tsujiri (4909 Yonge St.) is the star of the show this Saturday with the launch of their dine-in Japanese Cafe featuring Matcha Soba, Matcha Souffle Pancakes, and other on-trend dishes. Japanese Afternoon Tea Dessert Sets (including Matcha Roll Cakes and Sakura Mochi) will be given to the first 50 customers. Doors open at 11am.

Il Sogno Midtown (1993 Yonge St.) in the Yonge and Davisville area closed just shy of twelve years.

EVENTS

If you love cheesecake, no doubt you’ll wanna get your hands on cheesecake-on-a-stick (it’s a thing). The Heirloom Toronto Cheesecake Pop Up (420 Queen Street West) happens today until May 4th.

Head to Artscape Wychwood Barns (601 Christie St.) this Sunday for The Toronto Sandwich Fest.

Terroir Symposium is the place to be this Monday, April 23rd.

On Wednesday April 25th, dine out at A Taste for Life participating restaurant, and a portion of the night’s gross proceeds will support Fife House and people and families living with HIV/AIDS. Reservations are strongly recommended.
