Ice Ice Baby - Top 10 Frozen Cocktails in Toronto

It’s hella hot outside, so cool down with the city’s top frozen cocktails. These boozy slushies are guaranteed to deliver summer feels, whether you’re camped out on a patio or comfortably nestled indoors.

p.s. I’ve listed 11 libations, because you can never have too many choices.

Cactus Club Café

While the west coast chain’s Frosé ($9, blend of rosé, strawberries, elderflower, Smirnoff vodka and lemon) is an IG no-brainer, The Bellini ($9.75) with Bacardi White Rum, Peach Schnapps, sparkling wine, peach, and sangria is def the frozen drink of summer. Trust.

d|bar at The Four Seasons

Blush-coloured wine on the patio at one of city’s most prestigious hotels is a #summermust. Go one better and be cool for the summer with Frozen Rosé ($17) in hand with Tanqueray Gin, lavender, and lemon.

DEQ Terrace & Lounge - The Ritz-Carlton

While millennial pink drinks take over the rest of the city, DEQ gives classics a polar twist with Frosecco (Prosecco, Aperol, Grey Goose L’Orange Vodka, simple syrup, fresh orange) and Sub Zero Margarita (Casamigos Blanco Tequila, Cointreau, Blue Curacao, fresh lemon and lime juice, both available for $19.

King Taps

When King Taps launched last summer, I was shocked to see a Frozen Tropical Negroni ($10) on the menu. Even more shocking were the ingredients - Tanqueray, Campari, Lillet and PASSION FRUIT. What? But it held true to the classic cocktail even with the fruity addition and thus, I drank it ALL. SUMMER. LONG.

Sadly it's no longer available, but no doubt their Frozen Margarita ($10.50) made with Cazadores, Triple Sec, and lime - available in four flavours (lime, guava, mango, strawberry) - and Frojito ($10.50) featuring Bacardi White Rum, mint, and lime, are just as compelling.

Psssst - During happy hour, they’re just $6 each. Happy hour indeed.

Patois

There are some things I could have every single week and never tire of. Patois’ Jerk Chicken Chow Mein ($19) is one of them. Same goes for their rotating frozen cocktail, currently featuring The Hurricane Slush ($12) spiked with Monkey Shoulder Whiskey, ALL of the rums, OJ, pineapple, and sorrel. Drool.

Smith

Smith is like the friend you really like, but never see enough of. Froze ($12) made with rosé and rotating mix, is just one great excuse to get your butt over there.

Smoke Signals Bar-B-Q

Frosé all day for $9 is fab all on its own, but when it’s paired with the city’s best Texas BBQ? You’ve got yourself one of the best summer activities E-V-E-R.

Tacos El Asador

The neon green icy margaritas are by no means high falutin here. But that’s why they work. While most diners here choose achingly sweet Mexican sodas or frosty beers to pair with the to-die-for tacos, I recommend a brain-freeze Margarita ($9.35) – or three – because while it cools you down, it doesn’t mess with the enticing fare.
