Get ready Toronto for the biggest, baddest restaurant list you’ll see this week: a whopping 18 openings offering an exciting array of cuisines. And lots of deals to be had too.
Here’s the very latest:
OPEN
The Alley, the tea cafe from Taichung featuring drinks named Retro Antler DNA and Deerioca Puff, celebrates the soft opening of their Bloor location (621 Bloor St. W.) with ten per cent off drinks until March 22 (4-10pm).
F’Amelia (12 Amelia St.) has a new next door neighbour: Amelia’s Cottage (8 Amelia St.).
Dig into Sizzling Crêpe ($9.74), Curry Beef ($9.74) and assorted Bánh Mì ($8.85-$9.74) at Banh Mi T.O (841 Queen St. W.). All items are 15 per cent off during the grand opening.
Burrito Starz Fine Mexican Grill (431 Richmond St. W.) doesn’t rely on a deep fryer. Instead, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, and chips are baked.
Middle Eastern eatery Camel Restaurant (675 Danforth Ave.) just east of Pape, debuts tomorrow.
Chengdu-based hot pot chain DaLongYi Hot Pot (350 Highway 7, Unit 105) has softly opened in Richmond Hill.
After eateries in Scarborough, Mississauga, and Etobicoke, DSpot Dessert Café nabbed a spot downtown (828 Bay St.).
Just south of King at Spadina lies Italian snack bar Eighteen30 (9 Clarence Square).
El Venezolano (818 Danforth Ave.) specializes in Latin cuisine including Venezuelan cachapas and arepas.
Introducing Hillcrest Village ‘s newest local: The Gym Pub (782 St. Clair Ave. W.).
The first Canadian outpost of Hakata Ikkousha Ramen (249 Queen St. W.) opens softly on Saturday. To share “the taste of the original authentic ikkousha ramen,” 400 bowls will be served starting at noon. The first 50 are free, with 51-400 available for half price.
Limitless Bar and Grill (1450 Centre St.) in Thornhill celebrated their grand opening on Saturday.
Papi Chulo’s Mexicana (121 Ossington Ave.) opened yesterday. Why should you care? Two words: Tacos. Tequila.
There’s been a lot of buzz about Pick 6ix Sports (33 Yonge St.) opening tomorrow night. Stay tuned for a sneak peek.
Sunshine Wholesome Market’s second location (141 Berkeley St.) is now open. Shop grocery items, gluten-free sandwiches and wraps, and organic smoothies.
Bloor and Islington just got a destination for pad thai, fried rice, curries and much more, thanks to Vintage Thai (3369 Bloor St. W.).
Zed*80 (185 Danforth Ave.) is the second arcade bar to open at Broadview and Danforth. (Pixels and Pints launched just three months ago.)
The “first purpose-built elevated sports bar and grill entertainment” 817 Sports Bar & Grill (817 Queen St. W.) has landed near Trinity Bellwoods Park.
CLOSED
The Fox and Fiddle Danforth location (535 Danforth Ave.) is closed, but will “reopen soon.”
Louis of Louis Meat Market (449 Danforth Ave.), home of authentic gyros and souvlaki, has retired and closed up shop after 48 years of service.
Bloor West Village’s The Station (2457 Bloor St. W.) has shuttered after three years.
